I think you would do well to read her autobiography. Gene’s life turned out OK in the end and everyone she came in contact with had only praise for her. Spencer Tracey said that he felt fortunate for having known her. In the strange drama of life the rubella incident was due to her doing a good deed for the troops.

Dear friend,
to say I’m a fan of Gene Tierney is a major understatement. Very simply said, she is the most beautiful woman to have graced our earth.
I think the nickname “get girl” meant that Gene was very professional and always ready to accept a new role.
Let me suggest you to see “Son of fury”. Her twenty minutes screen time as a Polynesian girl are something… unique in the history of cinema.

From the moment I saw “The Ghost And Mrs Muir” with my parents as a child I was smitten with both lead characters in the movie, without a doubt Gene Tierney had one of the most beautiful faces in hollywood, what a shame her life had such unfortunate and tragic circumstances in it, which more than likely set in motion most of her emotional rages….here was a woman trying to cope with several failed relationships as well as a child with mental challenges too…..it is a shame there was not enough info about Bipolar illness then and hopefully there will be some breakthrough discoveries today!!

The film with the Siouxsie Sioux music is Maya Deren’s ‘At Land’. You should check out a film she made called Meshes of an Afternoon (or Meshes in the Afternoon, I can never remember), it’s wonderful.
