(*Note: While trying to find this picture I stumbled across a strange site that lists the art pieces shown in this scene of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, offering a virtual version of the same tour through the Art Institute of Chicago that Ferris, Sloane, and Cameron took.)
I like to imagine I have my own museum and I could get any classic piece of art in the world that I wanted to put in it. And, I like to imagine having my own gallery, and inviting contemporary, emerging artists to show in it. What would grace the walls?
I’m going to live out my little fantasy here by doing regular posts called tiny museum and tiny gallery. I want to profile classic artists that I become interested in, or find out about, summarizing what I learn about them and featuring pieces I like. I also want to show you new, up-and-coming artists that I come across and connect you to what they’re doing and where to find them.
I love to share, but I also have secretly selfish gains. While I’m on break from work I want to challenge myself to revisit/study the classics, while staying on top of what’s happening now.
My favorite places for keep my ear to the ground?
My love for you is a stampede of horses
