Haven’t checked out her book yet, Wonderful Tonight, but its been buzzed about since it came out simultaneously with her ex, Eric Clapton’s, tell-all autobiography last fall. I feel I’ve heard most of the story– and the book, as far as I can tell, isn’t very insightful if you’re familiar with her via marriage to George Harrison or Clapton.
She was the muse that inspired many of George’s Beatle-period songs, including Something, and Clapton’s 70s songbook, including Layla. She was the centerpiece of a love triangle between Harrison and Clapton, who were best of friends before, after– and even more strangely, during– the torrid affair. And John Lennon, Mick Jagger, and a handful of other 60s legends cite her as an on-going crush, representing the golden image of the 60s it-girl. She was a wisp with doe eyes and a pout-y mouth just slightly exposing a very crooked but charming, british set of teeth.
She was a model, featured most prominently in my favorite movie, A Hard Days Night (where, on the set, she first met George). She now shows her 60s-70s era photos internationally in gallery exhibits.
One of my favorites. Pattie and George circa their 1965 Honeymoon.
Modeling shoot circa 1965-6.
Patty with John Lennon circa 1968 en route the famous Beatles’ visit to India.
And again, at the Ashram with George, Paul, John, and singer Donovan.
She also wrote adorable beauty articles for England’s 16 magazine in 1965:

She tells her favorite beauty products, tips for eye makeup and getting that 60s powdered lip.
And maintains a website today:
